Ups and Downs This Week

So far:
Finished and self edited my contribution to the Anthology
Got some more focus on sections in Bluffside to hopefully let us keep moving at a decent pace
Took my son to the ER and spent most of the night there, migraines they think, who knew?
Lack of sleep and need to go back to work today

Come on weekend!

Anthology Update

Writers have been quiet and I had a few days off, I am just a few hundred words from finishing up my contribution and then a once over before I send it to people to edit.  It was cool as I was working on the final scene the cover "shot" worked itself into the book, I was like good job story!

Weekend Update 08/18/12

C&C Bluffside: Worked on more editing for it, got through the first few chapters, Brian, the designer I spotlighted yesterday was working on more NPC's and I hope the rest got some work done.

Anthology: Real quiet from the everyone this weekend, I am off for a few days and goal is to finish mine by end of vacation.

Weekend: daughter is out of town and will be home tomorrow and I will watch Hunger Games with her tomorrow, I bought it as a surprise for her.
Going to start reading Stephen King's Gunslinger series, I have so much fantasy that I need a break from reading it although I have a bunch to read.

Bluffside Designer Spotlight #1

First up we have Brian Boonstra:

How long have you been gaming?
 I've been gaming since 1983.

What's your fondest gaming experience?
I always remember we wanted use all the maps that came in the Top Secret/SI box set. So my two friends and myself had an all weekend long adventure going from the warehouse, to steamer ship, then office building and finally the airplane.  It was full of plot holes and railroading of characters but it was awesome when you're 10.

What parts of Bluffside are you currently working on?
I am mostly working on converting all the NPC's over to Castle and Crusades.

What is your favorite part of Bluffside?
It feels like a living breathing city.

What is your most challenging job redesigning Bluffside for Castle and Crusades?
Converting the spell list from 3rd edition to C&C

Status Updates

Anthology: Received 4 stories 3 have been final drafts, not due till 10/01/12 so still plenty of time.

Bluffside for C&C: Going a little slower than expected due to a lot more tweaks that we had to do to make it C&C compatible but it is moving forward.

Undisclosed project is getting some tweaks before we can move forward a bit and talk art.

Cons: this year it looks like just Necronomicon for me but next year GenCon for sure and possibly DragonCon as well.

Still not sleeping well, maybe 2-3 hours a night so I am still wallowing through the day.

I do have a few days off next week and a better mask coming in today to sleep with so maybe, just maybe next week will be very productive.
I hope everyone at GenCon is having a blast and save me a spot for next year.

This Week in Review-Bluffside, Writing and Sleeping

Got a machine to help me sleep (CPAP), it may be working...I can now stay up past 9pm once in awhile.

I ordered Monte Cook's new setting, it is available at Kickstarter.com.

Got a few more POI's for Bluffside and a converted race and 2 classes back from some of the writers.

Anthology: Waiting for more authors to send me stuff as well as going to try and finish up my part by 8/20, 3k of 5k done.

Cover: I have seen no updates since Greg has started painting, I can not wait!

Started working on a second short story in the anthology setting, will most likely offer this one for free, I thought it would be fun to write a brief outline do 500 words and then let other authors do 500 words and see where it ends up, doubt anyone else would find that a fun experiment.  So I am sure I will be writing the whole thing.

Anthology Update

I have received 4 stories so far and have responded to all 4 authors, cover is starting to get painted, and it is like a birthday every few days for me, I keep getting updates from the authors.

I just went into detail about one of the major cities called Cliffside, it is so exciting, you will get more as I have more to give.

Newest Additions

Got some new art and thought i would post them since I tend not to buy much anymore.

As anyone who reads this The Horseclans series was a influential series for me as a kid so I picked up a rough from one of the covers:
Then I picked up an original from Jeff Dee who did a lot of the original art for some D&D books including the Melnibonean section.  I had to pick up a piece since it combined my love for Moorcock and my love of D&D.

Slow week

Sorry all slow week or so, I am waiting for some people to come over to give me a machine so at night I can look like Bane from the new Batman, until then I am not getting very much REM sleep and not able to focus well or stay up past 9PM...it has not been easy but once I get used to my new alter ego, I hear I will be in a much better state.

I hope to be more informative and witty very soon.
